Not Much...Just Some Time on Hands

Go figure!  I had a miracle day today.  I did a little Smart Close work early morning, did a ton of housework that will make Jason so thrilled and I still have some time before boys wake from their nap to blog!

We don't have too much to report.  Asher is doing great with his helmet, it hasn't stopped him one bit.  Skyler and Ryder are doing great too.  We have been working very hard at getting them to crawl, stand and even walk.  They still aren't doing any of the above, but this morning Sky did stand on his own for at least 20 sec.  Goal...walking or crawling by their birthday.  I know, I know you all think I am crazy for saying that, but it is getting very hard for my arms to pick up or carry 25-30lb babies!!

Well...boys are up!  Gotta run, but here are some pics...

It's All Good...

Hello!  All is well in the Meade household.  I wanted to send a quick update on how Asher is doing with his new helmet.  The tech said to slowly introduce him to the helmet, babies will take some time to get used to it.  So, he was put to bed that night with the helmet and he slept through the night; we obviously don't want to waste anytime here!

He continues to sleep through the night and keep a perfect little attitude about the whole thing.  We aren't sure it has even phased him, he is such a good boy!  He has to keep the helmet on for 23 hours a day and I am hoping that this only will be for a few short months.  I feel as though his head is already looking better...no joke.

This past weekend was not just our same ol', same ol'.  Friday night Jason stayed home with the kids and I went out with a friend to see a comedy show.  Saturday, we invited some of our good friends over to hang out with the boys, eat dinner and relax.  We haven't done something like this (with just Jason and I here) since the boys were brought home.  It took a lot of team work to take care of boys, clean house, shower, make snacks and dinner...but we did it!  We had a great time with the Brooks Family and it was very much needed.  We miss hanging out with our friends.

On Sunday we had almost 50 degree weather so we took the boys to the park and they got to swing for the very first time!  It was so much fun to finally do something like this with them.  Prior to winter, the boys were just to young to do this stuff, it made us realize how much more fun this spring and summer will be with the boys!  When we were done we loaded everyone up and it was just the best feeling to do this together as a family.  Some of you might think this sounds weird, but having triplets doesn't allow for us to do a whole lot unless we have a third person.  The boys aren't walking yet or even crawling so it is really tough to lug 25 lb boys around and keep them all happy at the same time.

I will leave you with some more pics.  Enjoy and love to all of you!!

The White Stuff

As most of our friends and family live in Wisconsin, I believe they would say; " Winter is not a season, it's an occupation"!  For those of us living in the South we use leaf blowers to get the snow off our cars and brooms to sweep the snow off the driveways!

In the last few days we have had about 3-4 inches of snow, the most snow I have seen in the 8 years of living here.  When it snows schools and businesses are out and yesterday all the neighbors and their kids were out having a good time.  We live on a hill so most of the houses around have little "bunny slopes".  We bundled the boys up and out we went!  Ash, Sky and Ry weren't sure about what was going on, but they were so calm and I think really enjoyed it!  Jason even got on a sled with Ryder and down the hill they went, he LOVED it!

I took a few pics, but our neighbor has the pics of Jason sledding with Ryder so I will post that later.  Enjoy!

10 Months Old

Hi Everyone!  I know the blog has been a bit "lacking" in posts the last several months, but its tough to find the time!

I can't believe the boys are now 10 months old.  I was looking back at pics when they were in the NICU and could not believe that much time has passed us by.  I am already forgetting some of it!  I heard a song today when I was playing with the boys that made me stop; pick up Skyler and just hold him.  It was a moment for me, a moment that made me realize the baby days are behind us and it's so true that life will just flash on by.

With that said, our little boys are doing great!  They had their latest check-up and as of right now they are above average on their height and weight except for Ryder who just dips below 50% in height.  Their weights are 90%, 85% and 70%!  Big boys indeed!

Some of you may know and some of you may not, but Asher has a moderate case of plagiocephaly.  This kind of coincides with his torticolis.  It happens in multiples and this has largely increased in children now that babies must sleep on their backs.  Plagiocephaly is where the skull has flattening on one side or the skull is elongated at the top.  Since Asher was born it has significantly changed for the better, but it still isn't to where his skull should be...as far as roundness goes.  Our little Asher goes on Wednesday to get a helmet for his little noggin so that it will help form his skull into an even more beautiful little noggin.  We are not sure how long he will wear it.  It could be anywhere from 6 weeks to 3 mos depending on how quickly his head grows.  Stay tuned...

The boys were 2.5 months premature so to get you up to speed on their development I would have to say we are maybe a tad behind, but nothing severe.  We do not have crawlers yet, however we have one massive roller that gets where ever he wants to go!  Sky is so close to crawling, I am just waiting for the moment.  Asher has the idea down, but doesn't quite have the strength and Ryder is just now getting use to his tummy.  He hated being on his tummy. I always just figured he would walk before trying anything else, he is as sturdy as a bull!

Lately Jason and I have had many, many, many, many sleepless nights!  The boys first caught a cold and Asher got a cough so he had us up all hours of the night.  Ryder is getting some teeth in so he has been up continuously around 415 am.  Skyler, now Skyler has 6 teeth!  Yup, he has given us a break to let the others dive on into the teething world and is sleeping great...right now.  I have seen him recently chomping down on everything nearby which makes me believe there are more to come!

You really have to laugh about it all.  As soon as one is over what ever stage there is, the other starts!  All in all it gets more and more fun everyday and I can't believe ONE is right around the corner!!!!!

Jason and I are doing well too!  Jason is working hard, but not fishing as much in the colder months.  He recently had a birthday.  We had our neighbor come over last night to watch the boys and we went to a nice restaurant...compliments of the Kleins.  Tom and Mary Klein gave us a gift card for Christmas and I don't think we could have used it fast enough!  Our neighbor also gave us a "free day/night of babysitting" so it was on!  We enjoyed the evening; we rarely get to do anything together anymore so it was great!

I am still at home with the boys with the help from our nanny, Jenna.  Jenna is great with the boys, I couldn't ask for anyone better to take care of them.  Every morning she walks in the house and each of their little faces just light up!  My business is still a-go!  I have very busy days and then not so busy days, but it is working out perfectly.

My sister, Carrie is still in the battle of cancer.  She had her Bone Marrow Transplant and at first there were really no complications.  Recently, she has had more downs than ups, but we think the doctors are getting things under control.  We cross our fingers that she will have some more positive light shed on her to give her the strength to get thru this.  She will get better, I know she will.

Once again, I will leave you all with my latest pics of the boys.  It is so hard just picking a small handful, I know the grandparents can't get enough so bare with me...

They look like they are up to no good!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Cheers to 2011 and may this be the best for all of you!!!

We had some fun Badger clothes sent to the boys to show their festive side for today's Rose Bowl.  We tempted to put on all and take pics, but they were much too fussy.  Thank you Aunt Laurie, Uncle Dale, Aunt Julie and Uncle Joe for the great clothes!  GO WISCONSIN!!!!
