"Mama said there will be days like this..."

I haven't updated all week so I thought I would update everyone.  Remember when I said Jason and I would be alone all week without help?  Well, at the beginning of the week I thought to myself "huh, this isn't too bad," It was kind of nice to have just the 5 of us...THEN THE STORM HIT!

I know that babies like to "change it up" on parents all the time, but again... I think someone came in and took our sweet, routine-oriented babies!  I never believed in monsters as a kid, but now I really think there might be some under their cribs!

The boys have decided to not sleep thru any of their naps and we spend half our day running up and down the stairs to soothe them.  It's so hard to figure out what is right and what is wrong so we go back to our baby books and I have figured out that our three sons aren't "text book babies"  ha ha!  Thanks!

I am sure they are just going thru a phase, but I just hate that they are tired and they refuse to sleep.  We have the "MEADE TEAM" coming the end of the week so hopefully they can all help figure out how to help the babies get back on track.  It is so frustrating to not be able to "do your job" and soothe these babes.

Grandma Meade comes in today and we are counting down the minutes...oh how we missed her!!  It was nice to have some time as a family of 5, but we are oh so thankful and grateful to have her back!!!

We had a few big events over the weekend.  Jason and I had our 5 year anniversary on Friday and Jason's first Father's Day.  It has been about 100 degrees here everyday so our time was spent in our house.  We wanted to head out to the mountains on Sunday, but as the week went on we just were too exhausted.    I am hoping when Grandma is here we can take a trip with the boys to the mountains.

Not much else is going on.  Jason started up soccer again and has his first game tonight and I continue to challenge the baby whisperer.  Well, the boys are up again so I better go.

Flew the Coop

I dropped off Nana Harding at the airport today.  It was a bit hard for her to go and it was hard for us to see her go.  We went thru a lot of changes with the boys while she was here for 6 weeks and we couldn't have done it all without her help and support.  Thank you Nana (Mom) we will miss you!!

So...that leaves us alone for a whole week!  EEK!  Grandma Meade won't be back with us until the 21st.  Jason and I actually haven't been alone with the babies for more than a day since they were born.  I am nervous about how it will go or if I can actually keep up with everything, but Jason will be working from home should I need a helping hand.

It is quite amazing what one person is capable of and I have learned so much about myself and about Jason and I together as a couple and as new parents.

A quick update on the boys...They all went to the Dr. yesterday.  Everything looks good, it was really just a check up for their weights.  Sky weighs 13.3oz, Ash weighs 13.3oz and Ryder weighs 11lbs.  4 weeks ago they were in the 10th percentile and now they are up to the 36th percentile!  Pretty good I think for being so tiny when they were born...especially Ryder!

The boys are doing good on their routine and just the other night they gave us a great present; they slept 7 straight hours!  I jumped out of bed when I realized what time it was and that I hadn't gotten up to feed them.  I was so excited I couldn't fall back to sleep.  They haven't kept it up, but we are pushing them a bit.  Oh how we would love to get rid of that early morning feed.

We are wishing you all a great week!  Cross your fingers for us that this week will be smooth.  Have a good one!

M.I.C.K.E.Y M.O.U.S...EEEEE...

We are at it again!  Making our babies endure "dress-up" time!  I couldn't resist!  A good friend of mine took her 4 year old daughter to Disney World a few weeks ago and they brought the boys back a gift...The boys love them!  check it out!

3 Months Old

The boys are now 3 months old and really starting to change.  We heard Skyler giggle for the first time, we are starting to hear cooing and I think Asher is working real hard on figuring out how to roll over!  They all give us little insights to how fun it's going to be over the next few months of their lives.

I think the boys are catching on to our routine and we...Mom, Dad and Nana are getting better at not giving in so much and breaking the routine.  I am starting to understand that the boys really want a routine, they like to know what to expect.  I am quickly learning all of their cries; it's quite amazing to me.  I'm not always right, but I know that they all have the "seven mile stare" and after the 2nd yawn they are pretty much ready to go to bed.

I am not one for complete "structure" in my personal life.  It kind of drives me crazy, but welcome to the new me, "mom to triplets"!  We live by the clock and chart everything we do with the babies; from how much they ate, how many burps, if they went #1 or #2 and if we had to wake them for their next feeding.  It's crazy, but if you don't live like this with 3 babies I am starting to realize you won't get thru the first year!!!

I have listened and learned a lot from a few of the triplet moms in town and I have read LOTS of books.  If I can make it any easier...BRING IT ON!

All in all the boys are doing pretty well.  We are still battling Ryder's reflux issues.  It seems to be worse than ever.  We have changed formulas, medicine and it looks like now we are on to a GI specialist.  I am thankful that we are finally going to get this checked out.  It is really sad that every time we try to pick Ryder up or interact with him, he spits and has bouts of reflux.  We feel so helpless!!!  I am crossing my fingers that there is something we can do to help the little guy.

We don't have too much else to report.  The babes are keeping us busy, we are keeping them busy and I think over the next few months it might be a little more "fun-filled".  We have Dr apts, a switch in grandmas, house guests (one great grandma, great aunt and uncle, their 2nd and possible 3rd cousins, a grandpa and uncle!!) and possible pool-time for the boys.  No swimming just yet as they are too young, but we will just push the envelope a bit and see if they like it.  They sure love their baths and they love the shower!

I will leave you once again with a few photos.  We send out all our love!!!
